Where to Stay | Edinburgh

After a whirlwind week in London, I was so excited to get to Scotland for my very first time. I loved staying at two different hotels that were relaxing and welcoming. I need a place to rest and re-charge and I found that in the Kimpton Charlotte Square and the Balmoral.

Kimpton Charlotte Square

This hotel was recently acquired by one of my favorite brands, Kimpton and is in a very convenient location on George’s street. The rooms are decorated to honor the hotels Scottish location and guests are made to feel welcomed as soon as they arrive. The lobby, while small, is warm and inviting and the front desk staff are fantastic. The hotel features 2 restaurants, a library and a wellness center that offers fitness classes and a spa. This is a great hotel at a really good price point that will make you feel very much at home.

The Balmoral

The Balmoral is Edinburgh’s most prestigious hotel. The hotel has been opened for 100 years and is located in one of the most beautiful buildings of any hotel I have stayed in. From the time you arrive to the time you leave, the staff at the Balmoral are there to take care of anything you may need. I stayed in a newly redecorated suite and slept in a bed made from clouds. I kept asking the staff where the sheets were from they were incredible. The hotel features a Michelin star restaurant, Number One, award winning high tea and their bar is the perfect spot for a Scotch tasting. I can not wait to go back to the Balmoral.

* The Balmoral is also a Virtuoso property. By booking your stay with The Constant Wayfarer guests will receive-an upgrade on arrival (subject to availability), full Scottish breakfast daily for up to two in-room guests served in restaurant, $100 USD equivalent Food & Beverage credit to be utilized during stay, Early check-in/late check-out, subject to availability, and complimentary Wi-Fi.
