Venice Beach is everything they tell you its going to be, its eclectic and arty and hippy and weird. Its definitely not its Malibu and Santa Monica counterparts. Its the LA adjacent hipster beach town…again West Coast Brooklyn. There is the hipster shopping mecca of Abbot Kinney Blvd, the artsy murals painted on buildings, the boardwalk with its street performers and tacky beach souvenir shops, muscle beach, the skate park, and the quiet hidden gem that are the Venice canals (not to be confused with Venice, Italy) It was so fun to stay in this quirky part of town for the first few days we were in LA.
