One of the many reasons I love my job is researching and learning about new hotels. I am a hotel junky and getting to combine my love for travel with fabulous interior design brings me so much joy.
Hotels are often one of the first things that either makes or breaks the start of a vacation. Working with a travel advisor who has taken the time to learn about their clients and the type of hotel experience they want to have, means you are matched with a hotel that checks off all your must haves. I like thinking of myself as a hotel match maker. Finding you a property that fits just right.
Despite COVID and its impact on the travel world several hotel brands are still moving forward with hotel openings in 2021. I’ve been spending the last couple weeks researching these new openings and here are the top five I’m most excited to play hotel matchmaker with.
Opening May 2021 in Montenegro, this is the hotel brand, One&Only’s first resort in Europe off Boka Bay and the Adriatic Sea. Think Romance and Seclusion all wrapped in luxury One&Only has become known for.
Rosewood bought out Le Guanahani, an iconic St. Barth’s resort that originally opened in 1986. The resort has been closed as Rosewood is transforming it into a 66 guestroom resort that will be the only full-serve hotel in the French West Indies. The resort will feature a beach club, pool, tennis court, spa and waterfront restaurant.
Ok so technically, this one has already opened, but I just am so obsessed with it I had to include it. Xigera Safari Lodge opened December 1, 2020 in Botswana on the western side of the Moremi Game Reserve. The Lodge is small, it only sleeps 24 people and features art work and design from local artisans. This Red Carnation owned lodge is sure to be on people’s African safari bucket list.
Having stayed at both their Scottsdale and Riviera Maya location, I am a huge fan of Andaz as a brand. There newest offering in Bali is sure to be a show stopper. Located in the village of Sanur and opening in April 2021. Andaz always has a modern take on the local art and design of a country and this one is sure to be a hit.
Montage will bring the first ultra luxury, 5 star villas and resort to the state of Montana with the opening of Montage Big Sky. With a 150 guestrooms and suites as well as 39 rental homes, it is sure to be a hit in the winter when ski season is at its peak and during the summer for travelers looking to relax in the Spanish Peak Mountains of Montana.
